about us

In April 2007, I watched Diane Sawyer host the 20/20 special Planet Earth, Seven Ways to Help Save the World. As the program opened with a montage of human-caused destruction to animal habitats around the world, I was immediately captivated. Inspired to doing my share to help improve the environment, I researched information on transportation, recycling, and energy so I could understand how my everyday actions impact the planet. I Commit To Green™ was born. I created ICG as a way to educate and inspire others to lessen the behaviors that negatively impact the earth and strive to preserve the environment.

The year 2010 has been an exciting one! In January we launched I Commit To Green’s first product, The RecycleList®. Developed from my research, The RecycleList is an easy, user-friendly reference organized by the five main recycling categories: 1) plastic; 2) glass; 3) aluminum; 4) paper; and 5) what not to recycle. Now, finding answers to your recycling questions is as easy as using a restaurant menu. I believe knowledge is the key to saving the planet and I encourage people to use The RecycleList in their homes, apartments, restaurants, offices, schools, and while camping or traveling.

The RecycleList Kit, is a fun eco-friendly gift idea that includes a copy of The RecycleList  along with a credit card size magnifier to help you see the tiny recycling numbers on containers, a magnet clip so you can easily display the list, and a piece of plant-able recycled paper that you can tear up, plant and see wildflowers grow. More than 1,700 Hollywood celebrities received a RecycleList Kit this year with its inclusion in the Screen Actors Guild Gala Gift Bag and I Commit to Green being featured at the Sundance Film Festival. The kit is perfect for bridal and baby shower favors, party gifts, business promotions, and much more.

Our newest product line focuses on saving used CDs and DVDs from being tossed in our landfills where they never decompose. We’ve removed the data from the discs and created two products, a cool CD Clock and specially designed CD Coasters. This way we’ve saved a landfill and repurposed the discs into items we all use every day.

For more information, check our my blog at www.icommittogreen.net which posts cover a variety of articles organized by the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). I’m also writing product and event reviews such as my latest post about the Bel Air Film Festival being green.

I Commit to Green continues to make charitable contributions from product sales and events to a variety of non-profit organizations such as the North Shore Animal League no-kill animal adoption and rescue organization and The Nature Conservancy.

My hope is that you join the I Commit to Green Team and be part of the solution to help your community ‒ and ultimately the planet.
